Both boys and girls enjoy playing Grimoire Alchemist, a popular dating sim in Japan. Claudia Ellington is a love rival in the game and is humorously nicknamed the "Villainess of a Thousand Deaths" due to her frequent death scenes. However, the joke is grounded in reality, as Claudia actually dies a thousand times in the game. The unlucky protagonist of the story is reincarnated into the world of Grimoire Alchemist, taking on the persona of Claudia. Determined to avoid her tragic fate, the once-devoted fan of Grimoire Alchemist does everything they can to avoid any romantic entanglements with the game's potential love interests, in order to escape the consequences of the storyline. Despite their efforts, their love for the game and its characters overrides their resolve, and they reluctantly start winning over the hearts of the game's many charming love interests.
