There are three manga adaptations that depict Takarazuka Revue productions:
1. Turandot: This manga is based loosely on Puccini’s opera with the same title. Prince Calaf becomes a vagabond after his homeland is destroyed by war. Rumors of his father’s sighting in Beijing prompt him to go there.
2. Angel’s Smile, Devil’s Tears: This manga is loosely based on Faust by Goethe. Mephistopheles, a fallen angel, despises humans, believing that they do not deserve God’s love. Mephistopheles sets out to corrupt humans and lure their souls to hell, with Dr. Faust being his first target.
3. Hot Flowers of Valencia: Three rebels don masks and rise in revolt against French rule after Napoleon’s invasion of Spain.
