In the twilight of the shogunate era, a heroic figure is granted another opportunity to salvage a deteriorating feudal Japan.
As the Edo Period drew to a close, a learned samurai named Sakamoto Ryouma spearheaded a revolutionary campaign aimed at toppling the Takagawa Shogunate. Emboldened by the Western notion of "equal rights for all," he conceived of a modernized system of governance that rejected the tenets of repressive feudalism. Sadly, Ryouma and his friend Nakaoka Shintaro were both assassinated in 1867 before their aspirations could be realized.
However, Tenshou no Ryouma delves into an alternate universe of history where Shintaro gives his life to save Ryouma. With this newfound lease on life, can Ryouma achieve his vision of establishing a progressive and contemporary Japan?
