Lukka, an orphan who was blind in one eye and famished, attempts to exchange his footwear for some food. However, the locals appear indifferent towards the destitute cripple, sending him hurtling in front of an approaching carriage. Fortunately, Lukka's perilous situation transforms into a benevolent stroke of luck. A passenger, Edgar, a distinguished gentleman with captivating blue eyes, offers Lukka respite from his solitary existence. They become as close as kin, and Lukka flourishes into an asset, a cheerful attendant and a devoted confidante.
