During the 30th year of King Taesun's reign in the Gye dynasty, the sickly prince was close to death, having lost his soul. The emperor ordered High Priestess Oh Yeon to perform Chohonsul, a ritual to bring the soul back into the body before death. After the ritual, the prince opened his eyes but could not recognize his own father and spoke incoherently. It was revealed that the summoned soul was Bongmuye, the prince of the first dynasty.
Eventually, Bongmuye and Oh Yeon struck a deal where he continued to act insane while she kept him as her husband in exchange for food, all while keeping his true identity a secret. Oh Yeon was thrilled to have a well-matured soul like Bongmuye as her supplement, even after a thousand years.
