Arriving in Chang'an during the Tianbao Era, Kong Hongjun was oblivious to current events and was given three key missions. He became a member of the Great Tang's Exorcism Department and was charged with the responsibility of leading a team of unorganized yao-fighting experts alongside Li Jinglong, commander of the Longwu Army. The narrative follows their extraordinary expedition in compiling the Yao-vanquishing Records of the Great Tang, with a prologue and four additional chapters included in the book.
