Tokyo offers the chance for anyone to be the lead in a romantic tale. Nagao Kanji, an unwilling employee at a small advertising firm, moves there and reunites with his childhood friend Mikami Kenichi, a medical student surrounded by female companions. Both harbor feelings for their kind and pure-hearted former classmate Sekiguchi Satomi, who also resides in Tokyo. Complicating matters is Akana Rika, a bubbly co-worker who dubs Kanji "Kanchi." In Saimon Fumi's manga masterpiece Tokyo Love Story, the lives of these four young adults during the bubble era intertwine in a tale of love and relationships.
