It all began when Buchio, a twenty-year old cat, started undergoing a metamorphosis into a nekomata, leaving everyone puzzled about the cause of his sudden change. Wanting to uncover the truth behind his transformation, Buchio embarks on a journey of discovery with Yuri, a kitsune who has also undergone a similar evolution.
Meanwhile, Muu-chan becomes fascinated with Jirou, a Tengu, as she secretly watches him while he carries out his Tengu duties. As her interest in Jirou grows, she begins to see him in a new light. Unbeknownst to them, rumors of an unfortunate Nue start to spread in the town, adding to the air of mystery that surrounds the community.
