The anime Top wo Nerae 2! chronicles the journey of a young woman named Nono who aspires to become a space pilot, inspired by the enigmatic 'Nonoriri' whom she reveres. A serendipitous encounter with an actual space pilot leads Nono to join the elite Fraternity, composed of exceptional teenage pilots called Topless, armed with Buster Machines - quasi-humanoid weapons intended to safeguard the Solar System against swarms of uchuu kaijuu or space monsters. The sole proper chapter, Chapter 1, recounts how Nono meets Lal'C, the space pilot whom she admires and affectionately calls 'oneesama' or big sister.
