Initially developed as a means of enhancing employee motivation, brainwashing has developed into a fully-fledged practice utilized by corporations. They've even gone as far as hiring "washers" to influence the most skilled job applicants. However, due to intense competition, several companies would send a multitude of "washers" to the same individual, conflicting with each other's influence. As a consequence, an elite group of "washers" separated and formed deprogrammers who specialized in unraveling brainwashing techniques and comprehending human actions. Despite their expertise, the deprogrammers were perceived as a danger by the "washers" and were not invincible.
