The plot of Walkure Romanze centers on Takahiro Mizuno, a pupil at a school whose main athletic pursuit is jousting. Takahiro assumes the role of an expert on the sport and counsels the athletes. His days at the academy drag on uneventfully until the approaching date of the yearly competition. When his longtime chum Mio Kisaki unexpectedly signs up for the event without any prior equestrian experience, Takahiro detects her anxiety and volunteers to coach her.
