The story consists of a series of interconnected two-part oneshots. The first two parts revolve around Kai Kiichi and his temporary move to the landlord's family home due to his older brother's transfer to India. In the process, he meets Niina, his high school classmate from a different socioeconomic background. Kiichi faces further challenges when he starts working and encounters a troublesome colleague who forces him to give a speech at his wedding.
The third part, Daylight Prologue, explores Kiichi's struggles upon his older brother's return from India. Despite the joyful reunion, Kiichi cannot understand why his brother refuses to see him.
