Ranko Hanamiya defies her family's expectations during the Taishou era by working as a waitress at Cassiopeia, a high-end café, despite being 24 years old. While her family desires for her to pursue a more respectable occupation, Ranko remains unbothered and resolute about her job.
During one of her shifts, a charming university student surprises Ranko with a gift. Despite her coworkers' excitement, Ranko remains composed and unflustered.
