Sherlock Doyle, an average boy, finds himself in a distressing situation when the Emperor's diplomat captures him and compels him to wear his twin sister's clothes. The diplomat plans to dispatch him to Ehren, a tiny country. Meanwhile, Sherlock's sister, the intellectual Glinda, disappeared two days prior to her scheduled departure for Ehren, where she was to tutor the monarch's offspring. Sherlock feels utterly overwhelmed by the unexpected transformation, but he cannot see any escape. Eventually, he learns a disquieting truth about the kingdom's true motives for involving his sister.
