After losing everything due to his company's bankruptcy, Kazumi Iwakura finds solace in becoming the caretaker of a small shrine in a remote area of Tokyo. Upon his arrival, he stumbles upon three feline residents - a plump, unsightly ginger tabby and two fluffy grey kittens, one male and one female.
Kazumi is taken aback when he discovers that these cats are actually bakeneko, able to shape-shift into human form. The tabby transforms into a striking man with an intimidating gaze, while the kittens turn into a pair of cute three-year-old twins.
