Hayato's hometown is destroyed by a massive robot, resulting in the tragic deaths of his parents. His only companion is his loyal dog, Jack, and all he has left of his birth parents is a picture of a man and woman, and one of his mother's shoes. His desire for revenge spurs him on to seek out Ghost Ship, a notorious vessel known for mercilessly attacking others and bent on destruction.
